When entertaining guests, you will undoubtedly serve beverages. You may even serve wine. No matter what kind of beverages you serve, and no matter whether or not you’re serving a meal, you’ll want to offer appetizers. Cheese is a popular and much loved treat that can be served in so many wonderful ways!
One easy way of serving cheese is by simply setting up cheese boards or putting together a cheese platter. This is great for those moments when you are surprised by unexpected visitors. Simply select cheese from your fridge or have a handy helper make a quick trip to the shop. You can cut a few cubes or slices and serve with cold meats, bread and crackers, as well as fresh fruit like apples and grapes.
Another cheesy alternative comes in the form of pastries. You should be able to find mini pastries with various fillings at your local supermarket. Cheese pastries are particularly delicious and they please adults as well as children.
You can also use toothpicks to put together a delicious cheese and tomato treats. You will need small tomatoes – perhaps smaller than cherry tomatoes or at least cherry tomatoes cut in half – and balls or cubes of mozzerella. Alternate between the cheese and tomatoes while also including some fresh basil in between. You can serve with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar if you like.
Baked Camembert cheese is another scrumptious treat and it can easily give your guests that sensation of comfort food! Serve with your favourite crispy bread or crackers and encourage everyone to dig in!
Finally, don’t forget about cheese dips. If you want to serve cheese along with other snacks, you can make a cheese dip. Choose a variety of crisps and savoury snacks for your guests to dip. Encourage your guests to help themselves to a selection of snacks and provide a spoon for them to add dip to their plate. This will prevent any double dipping in the bowl!
