We hear about fancy cheese and wine parties all the time but what about beer? Beer is often seen as a more casual drink or something reserved for less formal affairs. This is not entirely accurate, however, and it is certainly possible to entertain your fellow beer-loving friends with a fun beer party.
Firstly, instead of having all the responsibility fall on your shoulders, why not get all of your guests involved? All you need to do is set a date and choose the location for your beer party. You can host it at your home or a venue that allows you to bring your own beer. The whole point of this party is for everyone to bring beer to share. It’s like your own beer tasting party. You can bring a beer that you love but know that your friends have not tried or you can bring a beer that you have never tried before.
Ask everyone on your list to bring a different kind of beer. Depending on how many guests you plan on inviting, you might want to buy half the number of beers as there are guests. In other words, if there are 12 guests, each person can buy six beers. Each guest can then enjoy half of a beer for tasting purposes. You could even reduce the quantity even further if you are trying particularly high-end and more expensive beers.
To avoid the risk of two guests bringing the same kind of beer, you should start a list. So, as soon as somebody chooses a beer to bring, this beer is written on the list and nobody else can bring it. If you want to keep things exciting, as the host you can keep the list a secret from the guests and only tell them IF the beer they want is already on the list or not.
Everyone needs to arrive with their beers chilled. They can also bring some snacks and it wouldn’t hurt for them to do a little research on what makes their beer so special. So, all night you will talk and drink beer with your fellow beer enthusiasts – what could be better?
