Gravy is an absolute must when serving Christmas lunch or dinner. Since you are bound to serve several types of meat, it’s important to have at least one type of gravy. Turkey gravy is easy to make with just three simple ingredients.
Ingredients:

  • 700ml turkey stock
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 2 Tbsp marsala (optional)

Method:

  • After roasting your turkey, make sure that you don’t discard any of the juice in the roasting tin.
  • Spoon out about 4 tablespoons of the turkey fat from the tin.
  • Place the tin over a low heat on your stove.
  • Stir the flour into this juice to make a paste.
  • Add the turkey stock gradually to the pan and mix well. Remember to scrape any solid bits from the bottom and mix them all in thoroughly.
  • Once you have added all the stock and everything is mixed properly, slowly bring to the boil while stirring.
  • Once boiling, add marsala if desired.
  • Reduce the heat once the marsala is added and simmer for 5 minutes or until thickened.
  • Pour the gravy into a gravy pourer or bowl with a small ladel.
  • Keep the gravy in the warming drawer of your oven

This is just one really easy gravy recipe that everyone can enjoy. It will taste particularly delicious with turkey, cranberry sauce, and some scrumptious stuffing. If your gravy gets cold, a kind of “skin” can form over the top. If you mix this thick “skin” into the gravy, it might form lumps. It is often better to skim it off the top and discard before serving. Regular mixing will help prevent this skin from forming.
