If you received a lovely gift hamper a while ago and your once beautiful wicker basket is not as attractive as it once was, there’s an easy and quick fix. You will need a few basic supplies and a few minutes.
You will need:

  • Old wicker basket
  • Rope
  • Hot glue gun
  • Pillow case (optional)

Method:

  • Start by inspecting your basket for damage. You can use your hot glue gun to secure any loose pieces in place. This will simply make it easier to cover your basket.
  • Now apply a drop of hot glue to the one bottom corner of your basket. Stick your rope down on the hot glue and hold it in place for a few seconds to make sure that it’s stuck in place.
  • Wrap the rope around the basket working your way from the bottom to the top. Apply glue as you go so that it is still hot when you stick your rope in place.
  • When you get to the top, you will need to cut the rope and apply that final drop of glue to secure the rope in place.
  • If you like, you can use the basket as it is or you can line it with a pillow case. Use a pillow case that is large enough to fit the basket with extra material to fold over the edges.
  • This basket can now be used to hold anything from towels or toilet paper to toys and craft items.
