Olives are an excellent treat to enjoy along with various beverages and, particularly, as a garnish in your martini. Olives can also be used to turn various dishes into something even more delicious and impressive.
Roasted olives can be served along with feta cheese, jalapenos, and topped with fresh thyme, olive oil, red wine vinegar, and lemon juice. Serve along with your favourite meal as a delicious side item.
If you are tired of regular bread, you could slice a few black olives and use them as a topping for your favourite homemade bread. Bread really isn’t that tough to make and it can actually make your home smell delicious when you are expecting guests.
The next time you plan on making a succulent lamb stew with various veggies, why not add a few olives to the mix? Just make sure that you use the pitted variety. The last thing you want is to bite into one of these hard seeds!
If you have the time and patience, you could stuff pitted black olives with your favourite sausage (minus the skin of course) and then crumb and fry them. Serve with your favourite dressing and make sure that you have toothpicks on hand for your guests. This will prevent them from getting sticky sauce all over their fingers.
Another great bread suggestion is to top your favourite bread with delicious garlic, cheese, and of course sliced olives. If you like, you can partially slice the bread and stuff it with these toppings and sprinkle some on top for good measure. Alternatively, you can simply leave the bread as is and be generous with the toppings.
Don’t forget about green salads and of course pizza! These are two popular dishes that can taste so much better simply by adding olives! If you are new to olives and you’re not quite sure about eating them whole, you can slice them. Sliced olives are far easier to enjoy if you are new to their flavour.
