No matter what type of gift you buy or make for mum this year, there is one thing she will always appreciate – breakfast! If you are not sure what to prepare for her this Mother’s Day, here are some ideas.
If you plan on serving breakfast in bed, you will need to make sure that you have a tray. The tray should be lined and you should always include napkins. Bacon, eggs, sausage, and all the trimmings are excellent for breakfast. Toast can be served with some jam on the side in case mum would like something sweet after her meal. You can include some fresh fruit juice and a cup of hot coffee or tea too.
Should mum prefer eating at the table, you can still serve her coffee or tea in bed. You can present her with flowers and perhaps some other gifts while she enjoys her warm beverage. Again, bacon and eggs are the most popular type of breakfast food. If she prefers, you could make her an omelet or even pancakes for mums with a sweet tooth.
Another option is to take mum out for a morning picnic. You will need to wake up a little earlier than usual to prepare and pack the basket. You can make some boiled eggs, pack some sandwich meats, bread, cheese, various beverages and some sweet treats like muffins.
If you want to treat mum to a morning out but the weather is not ideal for a picnic, you could always take her to a restaurant she has always wanted to visit or even her favourite coffee shop for a scrumptious breakfast.
The one thing you need to keep in mind is that Mother’s Day is all about mum. Think about all of her favourite foods, beverages and things to do. Consider where she will want to go and if she would like to stay home or get out of the house for a few hours. If you take mum out for breakfast, you might want to take her for a walk in a scenic park or garden or another spot she enjoys.
