Pecan pie is a seasonal favourite and brownies are always a hit. So, why not combine the two to make an even more delicious treat? Here is an easy recipe you have to try if you love pecan pie.
Ingredients:

  • 1 box of brownie mix and any ingredients written on the box
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup butter (melted)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 1.2 cup pecans (chopped)

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°.
  • Line a baking pan (9 x 13) with some parchment paper and nonstick cooking spray.
  • Prepare the brownies as per the instructions on the packaging.
  • Pour the mixture into the baking pan and bake for 25 minutes.
  • While the brownie mixture is baking, you can make the pecan filling. Use a medium bowl and whisk together the brown sugar, syrup, vanilla, eggs, butter, and salt. Mix until smooth.
  • Fold in the pecans until completely coated.
  • Once the brownies have baked for 25 minutes, remove the pan and top the brownie mixture with the pecan mixture. Spread the pecan mixture evenly and put the pan back in the oven.
  • Bake for another 25 to 30 minutes or until the pecan mixture has set.
  • Allow to cool before serving.
