While wines each have their own distinct flavour and aroma, there are a number of ways to make your favourite beverage even more delicious. Wine and fruit infusions are becoming increasingly popular and the best part is that they are so easy to make!
Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle white wine (dry or sweet based on your preference)
  • 1 cup of fresh raspberries
  • 1 bunch of fresh mint

Method:

  • Prepare your fruit and mint by washing thoroughly before you begin.
  • Place the mint and raspberries in a jar and use a spoon to crush the raspberries just a little.
  • Add the whole bottle of wine to the jar with the mint and raspberries.
  • Do not discard the bottle. You will need it later.
  • Cover with a lid and place the jar in a safe spot in your kitchen. Make sure that the jar is not in the sun or near a source of heat like your oven. You should also make sure that the jar remains undisturbed for 2 to 3 days.
  • Strain the infused wine to remove the raspberries and mint leaves.
  • Pour the strained infused wine back into the original bottle and enjoy!
  • You may want to refrigerate before drinking or add a few ice cubes.
  • Since you are adding fresh fruit to your wine, it’s important to consume this bottle within a couple of days. Storing it for a longer period can affect the flavour and the wine could go bad.
