Jelly is a delicious dessert loved by all ages. While jelly packages come in a variety of flavours, you can also use regular gelatine and fruit juice of your choice to make any flavour you like. Jelly can be enjoyed all on its own or you can use it in some refreshing and exciting dessert recipes if you are looking for a new twist on an old favourite.
Strawberry Prosecco Jelly Dessert
This is a really simple yet delicious treat. You need to mix some strawberry jelly with prosecco instead of regular water. If you are using gelatine, you can add a blend of prosecco and strawberry juice. Fill your glasses halfway and allow to set in the fridge. Use gelatine, sweetened condensed milk, a cup of hot water, and vanilla extract to make the mixture for the top layer. Top the set jelly with this mixture and allow to set. Finish of with cherries or berries. If you want to make a non-alcoholic version, you can skip the Prosecco and add extra juice instead or even something like Sprite if you like.
Watermelon Slice Jello Shots
If you thought jello shots were fun, these are even better! Slice a watermelon in half and hollow it out. Now you will need to mix some watermelon flavoured jelly or another red coloured jelly with water and vodka. Mix as per the instructions on the package and fill up your mellon. Allow to set in the fridge before serving. To serve, simply slice the watermelon and let your guests tuck in! Skip the vodka if you want to make a treat suitable for the kids.
Jelly and Custard
This is a classic treat suitable for all ages. You will need to make a batch of jelly, set it in a dish or separate glasses/bowls. Then top with some delicious vanilla custard and allow that to set before topping with another layer of jelly. Create multiple layers before topping with fresh whipped cream and your favourite fruit or sprinkle topping.
