Dad works hard to make sure that everyone has everything they need and more. That’s why, this Father’s Day, it’s your turn to return some of this love! Celebrate with Dad by encouraging him to take the day off and help him relax!
His is usually always on the go and, even when he is supposed to take it easy, he always finds something to do. Your job for the day is to make sure that he has nothing to do! That way, there is absolutely no excuse for him not to relax.
First thing in the morning, you want to make Dad his favourite breakfast and morning beverage. Whether it’s coffee, tea, or something else, you know just how he likes it. Serve his drink in bed if that’s where he likes to wake up slowly. In the meantime, prepare a delicious breakfast spread and invite everyone to the table when it’s ready. The foods you serve will depend on what Dad enjoys, of course, but you can include some other foods for the rest of the family even if Dad doesn’t love it.
Secondly, you should encourage him to get out of the house. If he fancies a round of golf, for example, you can join him out on the driving range or for a fun round together. This gives you some time to talk as well. After spending some time out of the house, Dad will be more than ready to take a load off. It’s most likely lunchtime and he might want to enjoy a meal at the clubhouse before returning home.
Another great tip is to allow Mum to spend some quality time with Dad as well. So, once you return from a few hours out and about, you could leave them alone to enjoy some relaxing time to themselves. While kids are usually expected to celebrate occasions like Father’s Day with their parents, mothers also like to thank their partners for their support throughout the years.
If you already have your own children, you can make an event of it all. Have everyone meet at somebody’s house or at a restaurant and enjoy a meal together as one big happy family! This is also a great opportunity to shower all the fathers with gifts. Gifts can be anything from chocolates and kisses to beer, wine, or champagne hampers. Think about what Dad will enjoy and you are sure to pick out the perfect Father’s Day gift. If you know that Dad works way too hard, you can even give him the gift of a night or weekend away. Take him away from his daily routine, stress, and responsibilities. We all need a break every now and then.
