Have you ever nibbled on some crisps and wondered if you could achieve the same delicious, crunchy taste? Well, you can with this easy recipe! The best part of all is that when you make your own crisps, you can rest assured that you know every single ingredient and you will not be consuming any preservatives or artificial flavours.
Ingredients:
3 medium peeled potatoes (the red variety)
salt and black pepper (freshly ground)
herbs and garlic (optional)
1 to 2 Tbsp oil
Method:
- After washing and peeling your red potatoes, slice them very thin just like crisps. You will find that a slicer will make this easier than your average knife.
- Cook the slices in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes before draining them thoroughly.
- Coat the potato slices lightly with oil.
- Mix all of your dry ingredients and sprinkle over your potatoes.
- Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and make sure that they do not overlap.
- Bake at 230 degrees C for about 15 minutes or until crisp and golden brown.
- Remove the crisps very gently and allow them to cool on a cooling rack or some parchment paper. Serve once cooled.
- Enjoy as they are or with your favourite dip.
