If you are new to baking, you might not be all that sure about your abilities. This is why it’s a good idea to start slow and work on your baking skills. Here are a few easy baking ideas that are so easy, you can even get your kids to lend a hand!
Fruit crumble
This is one of the easiest desserts out there. Simply toss a few frozen fruits together in a pan, add sugar and water and allow to warm for a few minutes. Butter a baking dish and pour this mixture into the dish. Rub cubed butter into some flour and add sugar. Scatter this crumbly mixture over the fruit and bake. Serve with cream or ice cream.
Upside-down cake
This recipe takes just one baking pan and it’s a delicious treat for all! The fruit will release steam to keep the sponge moist while cooking. Arrange the fruit at the bottom of the dish, top with sponge mix and bake.
Pancake tart
As the name suggests, this is a tart made from pancakes and, the best part of all is that you don’t need to bake a thing! Simply make a few pancakes (the more you make, the higher your tart will get). Choose a dish and line it with wax paper before placing your first pancake inside. If you like, you can spread some chocolate on each pancake as you add it to the tin. Top with some vanilla custard (make with extra corn starch to ensure that it sets firm) and then add another pancake. Add more custart and another pancake and continue until you finish off with a pancake. Refrigerate and, once set, turn out and top with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.
Profiteroles
These might seem complicated at first but it’s easier than you think. The choux pastry is easy to make. You will, however, need to be prepared to do a lot of mixing! After making the pastries, you are on to the home stretch. Filling and topping them is the easiest part of all!
These are all extremely easy ideas that will make you look like a pro chef! If you spend some extra time decorating your dessert, it will add to the impression that you are an expert in the kitchen! If you are planning on serving several guests, you could prepare mini desserts and keep them in individual dishes in the fridge so that they are perfect and ready when you are done with your meal.
