Halloween is not only for the young, but also the young at heart! It’s not only about sweets, chocolates, and dressing up. For those who might not have as much of a sweet tooth, you can still have fun with these delicious Halloween cocktail ideas.
Morgue-a- Rita
Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • green food colouring
  • ½ cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 cup club soda
  • ¾ cup tequila
  • 3 oz triple sec
  • 4 cherries
  • 4 tsp cherry syrup

Instructions:

  • Mix the corn syrup and food colouring together. Add the colouring in small quantities until you reach the desired colour. Set aside.
  • Place the glasses in the freezer and allow them to frost. Once ready, dip the rims in the green syrup and turn over to let the syrup drip down. Place in the freezer again to allow the syrup to set.
  • Place the cherries on stirrers for each of the four drinks and set aside.
  • Juice your limes and strain if prefered.
  • Mix together the tequila, lime juice, and triple sec. Shake in a shaker with ice until cold.
  • Pour one teaspoon of cherry syrup into each glass and add the cherry stirrers.
  • Pour the margarita mixture into each glass until about ¾ full.
  • Top with club soda and serve.

Bloody Orange
Ingredients:

  • 4 oz vodka
  • 2 oz Licor43
  • 8 oz Orangina
  • 3 oz raspberry syrup
  • 1 orange
  • Plastic syringes for décor

Method:

  • In a food processor, puree 2 cups of fresh raspberries. Press through a strainer to remove the seeds.
  • In a saucepan, combine the puree with ¼ cup or sugar and heat slowly while stirring frequently. Once dark and thick, allow to cool.
  • Fill your syringes with 0.75 ounces of this syrup and set aside.
  • In a shaker, add vodka, Licor43, and ice. Shake until cold before adding the Orangina and stirring again.
  • Pour into chilled glasses and add the syringes to each drink.
  • Garnish with an orange wheel on the side of each glass and serve.

Witch’s Hat
Ingredients:

  • 2 oz black vodka
  • 1 oz black Chambord
  • 2 oz dark cherry juice
  • ice
  • chocolate wafers, crushed (garnish)
  • light corn syrup (optional)

Method:

  • Dampen the rim of a martini glass before dipping in crushed chocolate wafers. You can use corn syrup in some water for better adhesion.
  • Mix the vodka, Chambord nd cherry juice in a shaker with ice.
  • Shake until cold before straining into the martini glass.
  • Serve right away.
