As a business owner, it might become apparent from time to time that your employees are no longer quite as driven as they should be. When this happens, sales can drop and customer satisfaction can take a bit of a dive. To avoid this from occurring, it often proves helpful to offer your employees and customers regular incentives. They need not be something so expensive that it turns your budget upside down. Gift hampers and baskets are an excellent and affordable option.

To attract more customers and encourage sales, you could add an incentive like a free gift basket for every 50th or 100th customer. Make sure that you include a product photo and perhaps even a product description so that your customers know what their hamper will contain should they be the lucky winner.

For employees, you can hold a regular performance based competition to encourage your staff to put in that extra effort. The employee with the highest value of sales, for example, can be named employee of the month and presented with a luxury hamper. You can order the same hamper each time or you can have your vendor mix it up for variety. Just make sure that every hamper you order has the same value.

Finally, don’t forget about the benefits of hosting a raffle every now and then. You can have your employees buy tickets or, if you want to host a customer raffle, you can have them enter using their receipt numbers. Every receipt number equals another entry into the raffle which means that the more they buy, the greater their chances of winning are.

No matter the strategy you implement, it’s essential that you always announce the winner for everyone to see. You want your employees and customers to know that there was in fact a winner of the hamper. Some companies host competitions but fail to make the winner’s name public which leads to understandable suspicion. Once word gets out about the quality of the hampers you are presenting as part of this incentive, you can be sure that your following promotional campaigns will be even more successful.
