Brownies are delicious and they need not be a chore to make. There are just a few basic ingredients that are needed and this recipe won’t take more than 45 minutes from mixing to serving. Once you’ve tried your first batch, you’ll be eager to make even more to share with your friends, family, and even your co-workers.
You will need:

  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ cup walnut halves

Method:

  • Preheat the oven to 175 degrees C.
  • Melt the butter and add each of the other ingredients.
  • Mix thoroughly before pouring into a 9 x 13 inch pan.
  • Don’t forget to grease the pan thoroughly before transferring the mixture!
  • Cover with tin foil if you want to keep the brownies moist and to ensure even baking.
  • Bake for 20 – 30 minutes.
  • Test by piercing with a knife. When the knife comes out clean, they are done.
  • Slice your brownies and serve as is or with some vanilla ice cream.

Brownies can be enjoyed as sweet snacks, a decadent dessert after a magnificent meal, or even a tea time treat. Serve with just the right hot beverage and you can be sure that your guests will stick around for more! You can serve them at room temperature or warm.
