When shopping for a gift hamper, it’s important to place your order a the right time. Online hamper vendors allow you to choose the delivery date of the hamper which means that you can place your order well enough in advance. It’s important to remember that they might not offer delivery on the day you require so you might need to accept delivery a day or two early so that you don’t miss out.
When choosing the delivery date, you should take a moment to read through the product description and contents list. The type of hamper you order will determine how soon in advance you can place your order and receive the delivery. For example, fresh fruit hampers should be delivered one or two days in advance at the most. If possible, it’s often better to have them sent straight to the recipient on the day. Of course, this is not always possible so storing it for a day or two won’t hurt. Provided, of course, that you store it properly. Keep fruit hampers out of the sun, in cool but not cold conditions, and away from wet or damp areas. If it is wrapped with plastic, you might want to open the wrapping and close it up just before you make the delivery.
A wine hamper, on the other hand, can be stored for weeks since the bottle is sealed and therefore won’t perish. Sweet hampers and chocolate hampers should also be stored in the right conditions to prevent them from melting. It’s quite obvious how heat affects chocolates but it can also cause sweets to loose their shape and become really sticky.
Pamper hampers, baby hampers, and any other non-edible hampers can also be ordered and delivered well in advance if need be. Accept the delivery when it’s most convenient for you and make the delivery in person on the day.
If, for whatever reason, you cannot place or receive your hamper delivery on or before the occasion, you can always send it afterwards. Sending belated wishes is not completely out of the question. Just make sure that you take the time to choose the best possible gift for the recipient so that it doesn’t look like you shopped in a hurry or that you forgot their birthday, anniversary, or whatever other occasion you may be celebrating.
