Ingredients:
- 2 apples
- 1 orange
- 2 cups of apple cider
- 1 bottle of red wine
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 2 cups of club soda (optional)
- 2 Tbsp of sugar (for the garnish)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for the garnish)
Directions:
- Wash and core your apples before cutting them into large chunks.
- Peel your orange and cut into large chunks too.
- Add the fruit, red wine, apple cider and cinnamon sticks to a large pitcher.
- Mix together gently.
- Chill the pitcher overnight. You might want to cover with a lid or plastic wrap if your pitcher does not have a lid.
- Club soda can be added before serving if you like. Feel free to taste before adding the club soda to see if you prefer it with or without. You can always add a splash to each glass as you serve.
- Decorate the rims of your glasses by dipping them in about a quarter inch of water. Dip the wet rim in the cinnamon and sugar.
- Set your glasses aside and pour each glass to order. This way your autumn sangria will remain perfectly chilled.
It is a good idea to test this autumn sangria recipe ahead of time to see if you enjoy it. You can always make a smaller batch. If you are entertaining a larger group of visitors, simply double the ingredients if necessary.
