Fruit and chocolate are delicious on their own and go great together too. Fresh fruit is a popular addition to chocolate fondues. Various types of fruit can also be used to make delicious chocolate-covered fruit skewers.
You need:
- Dark or milk chocolate suitable for melting
- White chocolate suitable for melting
- Fresh fruit of your choice
- Skewers
- Shallow rectangular casserole dish (for allowing the chocolate to set)
Steps to follow:
- To make these chocolate fruit skewers, you will need to select your fruit and prepare them by cleaning, peeling, removing seeds and cutting into bite-size chunks.
- Melt the chocolate in two separate pots. The double-boiler method is ideal.
- Place your fruit on the skewers and alternate between different fruits.
- Make sure you allow some space between each fruit chunk so that they can be properly coated.
- Coat one of your skewers with white chocolate and the next one with dark or milk chocolate.
- Place the skewers on a lined casserole dish until the chocolate solidifies. You can place the dish in the fridge just for five minutes to speed this up.
- Now, slide the fruit pieces together.
- Drizzle more chocolate over your skewers. You can do so with a spoon or some kind of skewer to dip and drizzle. Use milk chocolate to drizzle over white chocolate skewers and vice versa.
- You can place in the fridge if you like or leave at room temperature if you plan on serving right away.
As you can see, these chocolate fruit skewers are really easy to make and you can enjoy without feeling all that guilty. While you will enjoy delicious chocolate, you will also enjoy something healthy when nibbling on that fruit.
