Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Allow the frozen puff pastry to thaw out before unfolding it.
  • Brush olive oil on top of the pastry before seasoning with salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper.
  • Top with some cheddar cheese and ¼ cup of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
  • Cover the dough with plastic wrap and press the seasoning and cheese into the dough.
  • Remove the plastic and use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to cut the dough into three pieces before cutting each portion into three pieces again.
  • Take each strip and flip it upside down before twisting both ends until the whole strip is twisted. The seasoned side should be on the exterior.
  • Place your cheese sticks on the lined baking tray and sprinkle some more Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese over the top.
  • Roll the sticks slightly to even out the shapes and pick up excess cheese.
  • Bake for about 10 minutes before flipping them and cook for another 10 minutes or until firm.
  • Cool on a wire rack before serving.
