Halloween is not just for the young, but also for the young at heart! It’s not just about sweets, chocolates and costumes. For those who don’t like sweets, you can still have fun with these delicious spooky cocktail recipes to serve on Halloween:

Bloody Orange

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz vodka
  • 2 oz Licor43
  • 3 oz raspberry syrup
  • 8 oz Orangina
  • 1 orange
  • Plastic syringes for décor

Instructions:

  • Puree 2 cups of raspberries in a food processor before pressing through a strainer.
  • Combine the puree with ¼ cup of sugar in a saucepan and heat slowly while stirring,
  • Fill syringes with 0.75 ounces of the syrup and set aside for now.
  • Combine the vodka, Licor43 and ice in a shaker. Shake until chilled before you add Orangina and stir.
  • Pour the mixture into chilled glasses and then add your syringes to each spooky cocktail.
  • Garnish with an orange wheel.

Morgue-a- Rita

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • ¾ cup tequila
  • green food colouring
  • ½ cup fresh lime juice
  • 3 oz triple sec
  • 1 cup club soda
  • 4 cherries
  • 4 tsp cherry syrup

Instructions:

  • Combine the corn syrup and food colouring to create the appropriate colour. Set this mixture aside.
  • Chill your glasses in your freezer.
  • Dip the rims in the green syrup and turn over so that the syrup drips down.
  • Freeze the glasses again to set the syrup.
  • Place cherries on stirrers for each spooky cocktail.
  • Juice the limes and strain if you like.
  • Mix the tequila, lime juice and triple sec in a shaker with ice and shake until chilled.
  • Pour one teaspoon of the cherry syrup into each of your glasses and then add the cherry stirrers.
  • Pour some margarita mixture into your glasses until they are ¾ full.
  • Top with club soda and enjoy!

Witch’s Hat

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz black vodka
  • 2 oz dark cherry juice
  • 1 oz black Chambord
  • ice
  • light corn syrup (optional)
  • chocolate wafers, crushed (garnish)

Instructions:

  • Dip your Martini glass in some water or corn syrup to dampen the rim before dipping in crushed chocolate wafers.
  • Combine the vodka, cherry juice and Chambord in a shaker with ice and shake until chilled.
  • Strain the mixture into your Martini glass and serve.
