If you are a beer drinker and you are looking for a new and exciting way of serving this beverage over the summer, you are in luck. There are some amazing beer cocktail recipes that you can try yourself and share with your guests.

Lemon Beer Shandy

Ingredients:

  • 10 lemons
  • Light beer
  • 1 ½ cups cold water
  • 2 cups sugar

Method:

  • To begin, you will need to remove the zest from the lemons but avoid removing the white part. You can use a vegetable peeler to cut larger pieces rather than grating the lemons.
  • Next, juice the lemons and place this juice with the zest in a saucepan.
  • Add the water and sugar to the saucepan before heating slowly over medium heat.
  • Be sure to stir constantly until the mixture starts to boil and the sugar dissolves.
  • Pour the mixture into glass jars and chill.
  • Refrigerate the mixture until you are ready to make your shandy.
  • Pour light beer into a glass and leave some room for the lemon concentrate. You only need to add a few tablespoons of the concentrate. Of course, you can add less or more, depending on how you prefer this beer cocktail to taste.
  • Garnish with fresh lemon and enjoy right away.

Beer Sangria

  • 1 cup peach nectar
  • 2 ounces fresh lemon juice
  • 2 ounces simple syrup
  • 2 cups frozen peaches
  • 4 ounces Pisco Reservado (or similar brandy made from wine grapes)
  • 24 ounces ale

Method:

  • This is an easy beer cocktail. All you need to do is combine the lemon juice, peach nectar, Pisco and simple syrup.
  • Refrigerate for 12 – 24 hours.
  • Add peaches and beer before serving.
  • You can split the recipe up so that you can make smaller batches to ensure that the cocktail stays nice and bubbly.

Grapefruit Beer Bellini

  • 2 grapefruit beers
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • Prosecco

Method:

  • Place the grapefruit wedges in your blender along with the sugar.
  • Blend together and set aside.
  • Add a few tablespoons of the grapefruit puree to a flute or beer glass.
  • Add three ounces of Prosecco.
  • Top with grapefruit beer and serve.

These are three very easy and refreshing beer cocktail recipes that you can easily serve to your guests at your next summer BBQ. Not only will you get to enjoy that rich beer flavour but some fruity twist as well.
