While cocktails are a delicious and refreshing treat to enjoy after a long day or even to serve at a party, not everyone consumes alcohol. The good news is that there are some amazing non-alcoholic cocktail recipes too. Here are some great ideas for the warmer months of the year.

Pineapple and Lime

Ingredients:

  • 750ml pineapple juice
  • 400ml tonic water
  • 1 tsp clear honey
  • juice of 1 lime
  • small bunch coriander leaves
  • gold glitter (edible variety)
  • ice

Directions:

Paint a line of honey down the one side of a tumbler glass with a small paintbrush and sprinkle some edible glitter on top. Tap gently to remove any excess. Place your glass in the fridge while you prepare your non-alcoholic cocktail. Chop up the coriander and place it in a cocktail shaker along with the lime juice, 100ml of pineapple juice and ice. Shake well and strain into a jug before adding more ice, the rest of the pineapple juice and tonic water. When ready to serve, pour into four glasses.

Watermelon and Orange Blossom

Ingredients:

  • ½ fresh watermelon
  • 2 tsp orange blossom water
  • juice of 2 – 3 lemons
  • 4 – 6 tsp caster sugar
  • crushed ice for serving

Directions:

Cut the watermelon and remove the skin. If possible, remove as many seeds as you can. Run the watermelon through your food processor along with the sugar, lemon juice and orange blossom water. Add extra sugar if desired. Add crushed ice to your glass and strain the mixture into the glass before serving this refreshing non-alcoholic cocktail.

Carrot and Lemon

Ingredients:

  • 150g grated carrots
  • juice of 1 orange
  • juice of 5 lemons
  • 150g caster sugar
  • sparkling water
  • ice

Directions:

Stir the lemon juice, orange juice, carrots and sugar together in a bowl. Allow this mixture to set in the fridge for at least one hour. Make sure you stir occasionally to dissolve the sugar. Pour the mixture through a sieve into a jug. Add about 25 – 50ml of this juice to each glass before topping with sparkling water.
