When you receive a gift or hamper, it will usually be delivered in a small or medium-sized box. This box will often include various goodies to make you feel pampered. Before you discard it, here is a great way of putting the leftover box to good use as a pretty frame.

Shape and durability

Before you begin, you need to examine the leftover box and make sure that it is the right size, shape and stiffness for what you have planned. If the box is a little on the flimsy side, you could reinforce it by applying paper mache and allowing it to dry and harden before you proceed. Just be sure to cut a hole in the lid so that you have a space to display your photo or pressed blooms.

Themed decoration

Next, you will need to think about a theme for your leftover box frame. Consider the image or other items you want to include in the frame before you begin creating a decorative theme. If you would like, you can decorate it according to a special occasion like Christmas, Easter or Mother’s Day, for instance.

Paint and accessories

Now it’s time to decorate your leftover box. You can start by painting the exterior the base colour before you add any accessories to support the planned theme. If you plan on using any heavy accessories, make sure you do so sparingly so that the box doesn’t become too heavy. In addition, you should either use hot glue or superglue to hold them firmly in place.

If you have a plastic sheet to place inside the front of the box, you can use this as your frame window. Alternatively, you can use laminating plastic instead. For these designs, it’s often best to avoid glass just because plastic is far lighter and safer. Once your frame is all set, you can add your photo or photos and any other cute items you wish to display.
