If you are looking for a delicious comforting dish for the cooler spring season, you can’t go wrong with some 3 cheese Alfredo. Not only is this dish scrumptious, but it is also really easy to make with just a few basic ingredients. The following recipe makes 8 servings. If you need to make a larger batch, you can simply multiply your ingredients accordingly.
What you need:
- ½ tablespoon of butter
- 8 ounces of non-fat cream cheese (or the light variety if non-fat isn’t available)
- 6 ounces (or ¾ cup) of mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons of parmesan cheese (or more if you like)
- 1 cups non-fat milk
- 2 garlic cloves
- ¼ teaspoon of black pepper
- Salt to taste (or garlic salt if preferred)
- Cooked pasta
Directions:
- Before you start making your 3 cheese Alfredo sauce, you will need to boil some pasta. Fettuccine is the best pasta to serve with this sauce.
- To make the sauce, start by melting the butter in a sauce pan over medium heat.
- Add the cream cheese and stir until it has completely melted and the mixture has a creamy consistency.
- Add your garlic (minced) and pepper.
- Now add some milk slowly while mixing until all the milk is combined and the mixture is creamy.
- Add the mozzarella cheese and stir well before adding the parmesan and mixing well again.
- Add some salt to taste and, if desired, you can add more garlic.
- The sauce will thicken as it cools. If it is too thick, you can slowly add small amounts of non-fat milk to thin it down.
- If you notice that the sauce is lumpy, you can use a blender to ensure a smooth consistency.
- Pour the sauce over your cooked pasta and enjoy!
As you can see, this 3 cheese Alfredo recipe is really easy and you don’t need too many ingredients either. If you want to add something, you could include cooked bacon bits. If you prefer a dish without meat, you can enjoy as is.
