If you love pumpkin pie but you have never really dared to bake one yourself, you will be happy to know that there is a delicious and very easy recipe for all you first-timers out there. All you need is a few basic ingredients and, in just a few steps, you will have a fresh baked pie to enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • Pie crust (you can make it yourself or opt for a store bought crust)
  • 16oz pumpkin puree (canned or freshly made)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice

Directions:

  • Preheat your oven to 220 degrees C
  • Place the pumpkin pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish.
  • Place the pie dish on a baking tray.
  • Combine the condensed milk, pumpkin puree, eggs and the spice mix in a large bowl. Mix until all ingredients are combined.
  • Pour the puree mixture over the pie crust.
  • Bake the pie for 15 minutes before reducing the temperature to 175 degrees C and baking for a further 35 – 40 minutes (or until the filling has set).
  • Remove the pie from the oven and set on a wire rack to cool before serving.

Apart from the fact that this pumpkin pie recipe is so easy, it is also absolutely delicious! You will not find it overly sweet and it will not have an overpowering pumpkin flavour. The ingredients and their quantities make for a perfectly balanced pie.
