If you are a wine drinker, you will know just how quickly the bottles can accumulate. Especially after an evening of entertaining guests. Before you throw them away, take a moment to consider how you could reuse an empty wine bottle or two around your home. Here are some great ideas.

Dish soap dispenser

Are you tired of the ugly dishwashing liquid dispenser in your kitchen? Why not transform an empty wine bottle into a stylish soap dispenser! You will need to pump nozzle from another dispenser, of course, and you can attach it to the top of your wine bottle. Make sure that the tube is long enough to reach the bottom of the bottle. Decorate your bottle as you wish to make it even more special.

Bookshelf

You will need four bottles for each layer of your shelving. Place feet under the bottom shelf and secure bottles on each corner. Add another shelf on top and secure the bottles in place. Continue until you reach the desired height. Make sure that each wine bottle is properly secured before moving on. You also want to make sure that all the bottles are the same. Differences in height will make your shelf unstable.

LED lamp

All you need to make an LED lamp is an empty wine bottle and some LED lights. The string variety is best because they have dozens of tiny lights and the wires help fill up the bottle too. Simply clean the bottle and allow it to dry thoroughly. Thread the lights into the bottle and make sure that the switch and battery remain outside so that you can turn them on and off.

Candy holder

Fill your next empty wine bottle with your favourite small sweets like M&Ms or something similar in size. They should be easy to pour out. Make sure you leave enough space to pop the cork in so that dust and humidity don’t affect your sweets.

Flower vase

You can create a flower vase using any empty wine bottle. You can also give each bottle a unique theme or colour scheme. Spray paint them white for winter displays, use spooky stencils for Halloween vases or wrap colourful ribbons around them to use year round.

Table cards

If you are planning on hosting a big party or wedding, you will need numbers on all your tables. To make it easy for everyone to see, use a wine bottle to hold each card up. Simply pop the cork partially back into the bottle and slice it across the middle. This slice is where you can slide the card into place.

Rolling pin

Before you use your wine bottle as a rolling pin, make sure that you remove all labels. Wash the bottle thoroughly and make sure that it is dry inside and out. You don’t want water dripping into your dough.

As you can see, whether you have one wine bottle or a dozen, there are plenty of ways in which you can put them to excellent use around your home! As decorative items or practical tools in your kitchen, wine bottles don’t always need to be discarded.
