A beer bottle might not seem like a useful or attractive item to hold on to. Most of us simply toss them away. Best case scenario – they end up in the recycling bin. However, before you throw away that next bottle, you may want to consider these interesting uses to spruce up your home.
Drinking glass
You will need to take extra special care when turning your beer bottle into a drinking glass. The bottle neck and just below this area needs to be cut off. You will also need to smooth over the edge so that you don’t end up cutting yourself while drinking.
Table lighting
Once your beer bottle is empty, clean and dry, you can place some fair lights inside and use the bottle to brighten up your dinner table. The best part about these lights is that they will take on the colour of the beer bottle so you will have an even more ambient environment.
Planters
Remove the top part of the beer bottle just as you would when making a drinking glass. Add some potting soil and plant your favourite small plant such as a succulent or cactus.
Outdoor lights
You can hang several bottles from a chord and add lights to each one. If you have exterior lights, simply line them up with the bottles and place one inside each of them. This is a really creative design that will give your garden or BBQ area a fun feel.
Wrapped vases
Wrap up your beer bottle with twine or a colourful thread. Get creative with your design and use them to hold bud arrangements. You will only be able to place one or three stems (if they are thin enough) in each bottle but it will look great if you have three or five bottles arranged together.
Candles
Cut off the top of the beer bottle, add some candle wax and secure the wick. Fill with candle wax and allow to set. Now you have your very own candle! You can get creative with scents too. Candles are excellent for aromatherapy so choose your essential oils wisely.
There you have plenty of great ideas that will prevent the next beer bottle from ending up in the bin! You can even use these ideas to create your very own special gifts. If you receive an artisan beer hamper as a gift, for example, these bottles are far too beautiful to throw away and they are best put to use around your home.
