If you love biscuits but you don’t like all the carbs that go with them, you will love this recipe! With just a few basic ingredients, you can enjoy a low calorie biscuit or two without all that guilt. The original recipe is not vegan friendly but the egg-free version is.
Ingredients for the original low calorie biscuit recipe:
- 1 cup almond butter or other nut/seed butter (smooth)
- ¾ cup granulated sweetener (i.e. stevia)
- 1 large egg

- 3 – 4 tablespoons ground chia seeds
Method:
- You will love how easy these low calorie biscuit treats are to make. Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
- If you are using the egg-free recipe, you should add 3 tablespoons of chia seeds to start with. If the mixture is too thin, and another tablespoon.
- Scoop small balls onto the cookie sheet and make sure that you place them 3 to 4 inches apart.
- Press each ball down into a biscuit shape using a fork.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cookies start to turn brown but are still soft.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool until they are soft yet firm and chewy.
Each low calorie biscuit contains just 101kcal. While this might seem like a lot, it’s not the calorie count that is most important. It’s the fact that they contain just 3g of carbohydrates!
