Gift hampers come in all shapes and sizes. They are also packaged in a number of different ways. From boxes and crates to beautiful wicker baskets, the holder is usually determined by the contents. If you have received a hamper in a wicker basket and you’re not sure what to do with it now that all the goodies have been devoured, here are some ideas.
Picnic Basket
Depending on the size and shape of the basket, you could reuse it as a picnic basket. Before choosing this option, make sure that the basket is strong and sturdy enough to hold all of your picnic items. If you are worried about the fact that the basket does not have a lid, well you can simply cover the top using a picnic blanket or something similar.
Potted Plant Holder
If you love plants but you don’t like the way the planters look, then you can conceal them by placing them inside a wicker basket. Remember, when doing this, you will need to make sure that you still place a plastic tray underneath each pot to catch excess water.
Storage of Household Items
Another great idea is to use your basket to store household items like kitchen utensils, bath and body products or towels. A basket is particularly handy in your guest bedroom since you can place everything they need inside it and set it on a table in the room.
With all of these great ideas, there is no need to let a wicker basket go to waste. Of course, if you really don’t have the need for it or if you already have several baskets in use around your home, you can always use the next basket you receive to package and present your own gift to a friend or loved one.
