When you receive a gift hamper for Christmas or any other occasion, it is most likely presented in the most perfect way. All of the goodies are neatly packed inside a gorgeous basket and, once the contents has been consumed, you might not know what to do with the basket. Depending on the type of basket and the size, there are a number of great ways to put the basket to use.
Extra Storage
If the gift basket is fairly large, you can use it to hold any number of items around the house. Things like hand towels or all those things that usually get lost. You can use this extra storage in your bathroom, kitchen, or anywhere else around the house.
Picnic Basket
Some gift hampers come in picnic baskets. Others can be used as picnic baskets even if they weren’t initially designed for this purpose. If the basket does not have a lid, you can simply pack all your picnic foods and drinks inside with cutlery, plates, and cups. Then, instead of the lid, place a tablecloth or blanket over the top.
Snack Holder
During the holidays, you might like to keep snacks or sweets on hand. Use your basket to hold these snacks or sweets but make sure that they are the kind that come individually wrapped. Now set the basket out on your kitchen table, dinning table, or coffee table and let your guests help themselves!
Bread Holder
A smaller basket is great for serving bread rolls at dinner or lunch. The basket can be lined with paper towels or a tea towel if you like. Place your bread and butter on the basket and set on the table to make your guests feel like they are enoying a meal at a restaurant.
Floral Display
If you like to make your own flower arrangements, you can use the basket as a flower holder. Simply place a plastic tray inside the basket and make your own flower arrangements set in floral foam.
Reuse
If your basket still looks great, you can reuse it as a holder for a gift for somebody else. Simply fill the hamper with whatever you like, wrap it up, and you’re all set!
Even if your hamper basket gets damaged or looks old, you can still fix it up. You can paint it or, if it seems beyond repair, you could still use it for storing various items like items in the garage or shed like gardening tools.
