Father’s Day is not too far away and it’s time to start making plans! They say that the best way to his heart is through his stomach, so why not prepare a very special dinner feast? If you’re not sure what to cook, here are a few delicious ideas that will make the meal a delight. Remember, you can include some of his favourites but it’s also a great opportunity to stir that pot of ideas and come up with more mouthwatering dishes.
If Dad is a really simple kind of guy who loves to indulge in a juicy burger from time to time, then this might just be his night. Burgers – with everything – are perfect for informal Father’s Day feasts and you can be sure that everyone will have a full belly once th night is through. This kind of meal also calls for more casual place settings so you don’t need to go all out. Instead, you can spend that extra time with him.
For all the meat lovers, a succulent steak cooked to perfection is just what they ordered! When serving steak for dinner, you can pair it with his favourite red wine and don’t forget to offer plenty of side items too! From roast potatoes to glazed carrots and everything in between! If he enjoys a particular sauce on his steak, be sure to make or buy it too!
Then there are those men who adore anything as long as it’s pasta! Whether you want to make your famous lasagna or saucy ravioli, make sure that you do so according to his preferences. You can also serve a green salad on the side as a way of giving yourself a break in between all that rich goodness.
If you know that he enjoys Mexican food, then perhaps quesadillas, fajitas, or even tacos should be on the menu. Don’t forget the salsa and fresh guacamole! Serve these items on the side, of course, and you can also set a bowl of sour cream on the table just in case anyone needs to cool down from all that spice!
No matter what you serve, make sure that your starter, main course, and dessert all pair well together. A soup or salad would usually work well as a starter whereas you can serve anything you like for the main course. If you are selecting a certain type of food (Mexican for example), then you should serve a Mexican style soup or at least a tomato soup. Similarly, your dessert should also follow this theme. If you are not able to make the dessert, you could visit your local bakery and have them whip something up.
