Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and it’s time to start planning your special day. Sweet treats are popular for this occasion and homemade cakes and biscuits are the best of all. If you want to make Valentine’s Day extra special this year, how about setting up a romantic candy bar?
Start by making your cake pops. There are a number of easy recipes out there but they all involve mixing crumbled cake with some kind of frosting, sliding in a stick, and decorating with chocolate, sprinkles, and other decorative edibles. Remember to stick to the red and white colour scheme for all of your treats. You can make some cake pops red and others white. You can also make some red and white for a bit of variation.
Next, it’s time for muffins or cupcakes – whichever you prefer. Red velvet cupcakes with perfect white frosting and red sprinkles will certainly do the trick. If you prefer, you could even use chocolate cupcakes or muffins and decorate them with red and white frosting. Arrange your cupcakes on a cupcake stand and remember to alternate between the different designs for the best visual effect.
Now you can add your biscuits! Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to make your favourite cookies. Once they are ready, you can decorate with red and white chocolate, frosting, or sprinkles. The key is to alternate between toppings and decorative designs so that they don’t all look the same.
At last, time for some fruit! Chocolate dipped strawberries are always a winner and you can leave them as they are or set them on cake pop sticks. You can dip some of them in milk chocoalte and some in white chocolate. You can then drizzel red-coloured white chocoalte over them for extra colour.
Finally, add a few bowls of his favoured red and white candies. This might be a bit of a chore if you have to open several bags and pick out the red and white sweets only but it will have a fantastic effect! Set everything up while your Valentine is at work or out for a few hours so that they can be complete surprised by the amazing and delicious display!
